Description: Minimizing time on addition to Greek Revival house allowed family to reside at home during construction.
Highlights:
- Project was allocated five months for construction on 3,000+ square feet of new and renovated space, including: ensuite bedrooms, guestroom and bath, kitchen, breakfast area, mudroom, garage, family room and computer alcove.
- Assignment required managing owner’s team of preferred vendors and subcontractors.
- Construction was complicated by rock ledge that extended within three feet of home, which was removed without damage to the existing structure.
- Details included 16 custom exterior moldings to match original designs, coffered ceiling in family room, 3 marble baths, and 20Kw back-up generator with 1,000 gallon propane tank.
- Dust containment and maintaining family’s privacy were priorities during construction.
Owner realized 10% savings due to competitive trade buy-out and contract negotiations.
